Shade Hadie

Shade Hadie unleashes youthful energy with a throwback analogue sound that channels the spirit of 1960's blues rock. Lead singer/guitarist Buddy Moyes delivers a powerful, gravelly voice that fluctuates between understated restraint and explosive raw energy. His vocals resonate with raw intensity, blending Howlin' Wolf's haunting grit with Tom Waits' jagged tones. When Moyes and guitarist Oskar Thaw lock in guitars, they create intricate harmonies and sudden tempo changes, resulting in an electrifying and unpredictable blend of improvised blues. Adding to this blend of harmonies, Buddy Moyes provides some Little Walter-esque harmonica for an extra layer of blues flavour. Supporting the front line are bassist Michael Georgas and percussionist/drummer Riley Sharp, who combine a driving rhythmic beat and vibrant textures.

Since arriving on the Brisbane music scene in 2023, Shade Hadie has been captivating audiences with a unique mix of original tracks and reinvented covers of classic Blues songs. Their 2024 performance at The Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival in Winton has fuelled their ambitions for the 2025 festival circuit, where they aim to share their exhilarating sound with the wider blues community.
